Continuing Fascination with Hats

Linnea Loves Thursdays

On Thursdays ,a group of us girls get together for weekly Refresh meetings and the kiddos get to play and play and play. Linnea loves playing with her friends and often she doesn't pay any attention to me until she is ready to eat lunch! She plays till she is exhausted and still tries to keep playing.
Linnea and Jonathan had fun playing together.

Linnea's Day

Wake up with a pacifier stuck to the back of her head. Wonder why daddy and mommy are laughing so hard and not rushing to feed her breakfast.
Was playing happily in her room but as soon as mommy headed out the door to put stuff in the car, booked it over to Katie's food. Played with and ate some cat food in the amount of time it took mommy to go outside and realize that the Pilot was locked. Mommy found a half soaked little girl happily dropping food in the water bowl, but didn't realize that cat food had been eaten until it came back up decorating nicely a certain someone's coat and carseat. She decided she had her adventure for the morning and decided to sleep through three stores, completely unaware of the large packages balanced on top of her stroller.

Watched the pretty bluebirds at the birdbath while she ate her lunch. Took a nap.
Woke up. Went to the pantry and decided to get out the new bag of cheese puffs.
Walked through the dining area fussing and hoping that mommy would give her some cheese puffs. Ate a few cheese puffs and played happily for several more hours. Then decided to eat dinner.

Managed to get into the pantry again and pulled out the cheese puffs.
She could go toTrader Joes and carry around their bags of puffs for them.
Enjoying a few more cheese puffs. Notice the relaxed pose.

Very upset that her mommy took the bag of cheese puffs away from her for the 4th time that day and wouldn't give her any. Looks like it's time for bedtime.

A Love Affair

Yes it's the same bag of cheese puffs from the previous post, just a different day. She loves to go the pantry and get them out to carry around, in fact she is currently digging the in pantry to get them out now.

A Sad Excuse for Snow

Last year when it snowed Linnea didn't care at all for her silly parents taking her out in it. This year she missed the first snowfall, seeing as it all fell late at night and had been washed away by morning. So when it started snowing yet again we took her outside for her to try to figure out what was falling from the sky. She was very curious about the big flakes that kept falling, but in keeping with the previous snowfall it never amounted to anything at all, so she was unable to explore in any snow.

The snow wouldn't stick to the ground, but it did stay in her hair. Don't you love her crazy hairdo?

From Monday to Monday

A lot can happen between Mondays.
A few days before Christmas Linnea started working on walking some, taking 3-4 steps towards us. She mastered walking holding just one hand, practicing with her great grandpa Hammack. She took 6 steps on New Years and then decided that she liked crawling more. Last Monday, Linnea was enjoying crawling everywhere. Tuesday night she played at her grammie's while we went out to dinner. Before we picked her up we talked about how she wasn't interested in walking at all and how she had pretty much stopped even trying to take a few steps at a time, she seemed content crawling all over the place. We joked that we would go into the house to pick her up and she would be chasing her grammie's cats around. She wasn't exactly chasing the cats around, but she was following her grammie around trying to get a feathered cat toy that she has always loved watching the cats play with. Wednesday, I kept finding her walking in the hall and taking short little walks and then she would start to crawl and then maybe stand up and start walking again. Thursday, we had our weekly Refresh meeting at a friend's house and Linnea tried walking to and from various points. Friday, we had a recheck on Linnea's ears, 9 days earlier when we had gone for her one year check up she was only interested in crawling and that's what we told the dr when he asked whether she was walking or not. She was walking around in the waiting room before her ears were rechecked! Saturday, she spent a lot of her time and energy following around her daddy trying to make sure he didn't get out of her sight and improving on her walking skills. Sunday, she decided to stay up till 11 walking around. From beginning of the weekend till the end, it has been amazing how much confidence she has gained, she is now walking pretty much everywhere. This morning she walked all the way from the kitchen into our bedroom to come find us. I have found her wandering all over the house and she has started carrying random objects around as she explores :-) Maybe I'll get some pictures up soon of her in action.
And now we are on to new and exciting frontiers, our little gummy bear has decided that twelve and a half months of toothlessness is enough and is currently working on her first tooth!

We're Back!

We finally got our new card reader, so now we can start flooding our blog with Linnea once again. What was supposed to be delivered a week before Christmas ended up coming almost two weeks afterwards. So it amounts to lots and lots of Linnea pics just waiting. Linnea is changing everyday, she started walking up to six steps on her own right around Christmas time. She is still not sure about walking so she walks a few steps, crawls, stands up, walks a few steps, crawls some more it is funny to watch! She loves to turn lights on and off, claps about everything, throws her hands up in the air for "so big", turns her hands up for all done, and nods her head "yes" when you ask her questions. To sum it all up, she is a joy and we are amazed by her daily!

Daddy's little red wagon

While we were in Virginia we picked up Ben's old wagon. We had talked about getting Linnea a wagon, but had delayed it because Ben wanted to get her one like what he had when he was little. We didn't know that the original still was around! Linnea loves to stand up behind the wagon pushing it all over the yard and loves to be pulled around the yard, she just doesn't understand that everyday in January isn't warm like it has been. She stands at the front door and cries wanting to go outside to play.

It's fun being 1!

Linnea is everywhere these days and many times we affectionately refer to her as our little tornado. You clean it up and she will mess it up!

Balloons are Fun!

Linnea goes to a birthday party

Linnea went to her friend Kayleigh's birthday party and it was the first time Linnea has gone to a birthday party. She enjoyed playing with all of the balloons, eating the yummie lunch, and playing on the trampoline.

Linnea's First Birthday Party

Linnea had so much fun showing off for all of her grandparents! She went "O" over everything she opened up and had a hard time waiting for all the fun toys to come out of their packaging. She then decided to play with her toys and entertain all of the adults, she kept glancing over her shoulder to make sure that all eyes were still on her. She loved eating her birthday cupcake, there was not much left of by the time she was finished! We really enjoyed our baby girl's first birthday :-)

Happy Birthday Linnea!

Linnea had a fun first birthday with her mommy, daddy, and grammie. She enjoyed opening all of her presents and making a mess with her birthday blackberry shortcake. The maraccas that she got were one of her favorite things to play with she was so cute shaking both of them and bouncing up and down at the same time.

Christmas Express to Virginia

Christmas day Ben's dad came for lunch and then spent the afternoon with us. After Linnea had dinner we all loaded up and drove up to Ben's grandparent's in Virginia. Linnea enjoyed having all the extra people around to walk her around.
