Linnea's First Trip to the Zoo

Last Thursday we had the opportunity to go to the zoo with our Thursday morning Refresh group. Between a very generous Sandi and Mary Matheson we were all able to get in for free. There were 12 of us total 6 moms and 6 kiddos under age 4 and 1 little stowaway that should be making his appearance within the next month. Linnea and I rode down with Emma and Elizabeth. The girls really seemed to enjoy sitting next to each other for the trip. Linnea was very captivated by all the various animals she got to see and also enjoyed watching all the people as we walked around.

First stop was the flamingos, Linnea wasn't quite sure what to think of them, she spent most of the time just staring at them.
Linnea really enjoyed the pengiuns they were adorable and kept swimming right by us. If I only had a video camera with me to capture her jumping up and down!

Giraffes

Linnea loved the giraffes! They came right up to us to visit and she even got to pat one.

Goats

The goats probably were by far her most favorite part of the zoo. They were very very friendly and gave her lots of licks and nuzzles!

Zoo Buddies

Linnea with Will in the very popular wagon. The kids kept rotating in and out of the wagon, it was a favorite ride for everyone.

Sisters and cousins. Elizabeth & Emma and Mary Matheson & Will. Mary Matheson & Will live near the zoo so they were able to join us for all the fun!

The Great Stroller Escape

Not quite sure what this look is for but I imagine we will be seeing a few more times before she grows up!
By lunch time she was fed up with being in her stroller.
If it weren't for that pesky tray she would have made it all the way out without help. And what does her mommy do? Laugh and take pictures!

Jonathan finally got Linnea's hand!

Linnea Likes Pretty Clothes

Recently we have noticed that Linnea really has preferences in clothing at times. Her grammie was babysitting her and Linnea put several pairs of pajamas back in the drawer that her grammie got out and took out a pair of pink ones that she wanted to wear. When we brought home a fleece top for her to wear next winter she pulled it out of the bag, took it over to her daddy, and asked for him to put it on. It was huge on her, but she was so happy, for the rest of the day, she kept showing everyone the flowers on it. She has been known to pose in the mirror, show people her dresses, and when we are in the store she gravitates towards specific outfits. Her daddy thinks it is great fun to show her severl outfits and see which one she picks out! She's our little girly girl, who also thinks it is great fun to dig in the dirt and carry weeds around. Now if we could get her to keep a bow in her hair and stop bringing weeds into the house!

Talking to Panda Bear

We never know where we will find Linnea and whenever it gets too quiet once she's left a room we go in search of where she is.

One morning found her very content sitting in her collapsed tunnel holding her panda bear talking to him and surveying the bookshelves in her playroom.

Of course by the time mommy actually found the camera to take the picture she was about through talking to panda bear.

She decided to move onto better and brighter things like brushing her tooth. (Chewing on tooth brush not much brushing involved). We aren't quite sure how she ended up with her toothbrush, but she enjoyed sitting there for about 10 minutes brushing/chewing on it. Gotta keep that one tooth clean.

Tornado Toddler Style

Toys that we are used to picking up after.
Our own little personal tornado.
Just a glimpse of the destruction, piles of her daddy's shoes lost from their mates and far from their home.

Forgot about this post for a couple of weeks, it's just been sitting here waiting for me to hit post. Not much has changed since these photos were uploaded, we have a toddler tornado on our hands. At any given moment she is quickly going through the whole house pulling out as many items as she can and leaves quite a trail of destruction, it is amazing what a little ball of energy can do in 5 minutes, 7 rooms and more disaster areas than we want to count!

February

February was the month of sickness and catching up from being sick. Linnea didn't get sick thankfully, but both of us tried to stay sick way too long! Rosalie and Liam came to visit and we didn't even get very many photos, too yucky feeling. Sleep was the most popular activity in our house. Linnea enjoyed tearing around the house, being a little character, and sweetheart all rolled into one. She has become pickier about what she wants to eat, likes to try to take her shirt off and will end up walking around half the day one arm in, one arm out! She is a patty cake addict, wish we had never let her know that we knew how to play patty cake. She learned it from her grammie and now she askes multiple times a day to play. She pulls out lots and lots of books everyday to be read and read and read again. She likes to say bye bye daddy every morning and will sometimes follow her daddy around while he is getting ready waving and saying bye bye. So many little things that are fun to watch her learn and enjoy!

Celebrating with Uncle Majid

On Tuesday, January, 29th we headed down to Charleston to suprise our friend Majid at his citizenship swearing in. We didn't take our camera in, keeping Linnea entertained more than kept our hands full! After the ceremony we went to the cottage where Majid and family were staying to celebrate. Linnea absolutely loved spending time with her Uncle Majid. Linnea loved going down by the water to play in the sand and explore all of the new things.
