One Month Old

It is hard to believe that Linnea is already 1 month old! In some ways it seems like she has been with us forever and in other ways it seems like just yesterday that she was born. Yesterday she went to the dr's and she is now 11lbs. 4 oz. & 22.75 in. long. The dr said she is tall & has big feet! We thought all along she had grown over the past 2 weeks, most of her newborn clothes aren't long enough, our informal weighings on our scale put her between 11 & 11.5 lbs, and on Saturday she graduated from her newborn diapers to the next size up. She very definitely smiles at us when we talk silly to her etc. Last week seemed like a big week for her as far as changes, she started watching her mobile intently for up to 10 minutes at a time, she likes her swing & even falls asleep in it, & she has started grunting & squealing when she is on her back awake & happy -the first few times she started making noises we thought she was getting ready to get worked up only to find her happy as can be. The most interesting way we have gotten her to sleep so far was today, when Steph took her on the elliptical and bounced her to sleep after everything else failed! She has her definite fussy times to the point where it seems like it will never end, but then she finally falls asleep & we look at her sleeping so peacefully & forget everything except for how precious she is to us.
Last Thursday we got our first snowfall in a longtime & Linnea's first ever. We took her out for a quick photo even though she didn't have a clue. Ben was excited, more than enough, for all of us!
The diaper changing pad is still one of Linnea's favorite places to hang out. She loves to just look all around and smile lots. It's so much fun having her turn to look at us whenever we talk to her.

This remains Linnea's all time favorite way to sleep, right next to her daddy, his "daddy magic" at work. Last night when he debated putting her back in her bassinet after she was fed, he opted to keep her asleep on his chest, he just didn't want to give up his baby girl. At this rate she will be able to get about anything she wants out of her daddy.

Hey Merritt family! Y'all are doing a great job updating your pictures and stories on here. It helps me not seem so far away and keep in touch. What a precious little girl! I know y'all are enjoying each day as she grows and changes. It was great to get to see y'all in the hospital last month. :)

Love, Eli

Long time since I've heard from y'all! Beautiful baby girl, Drive Thru Man! You look exactly the same...how is that possible? Check out our fotolog for the Garner's latest...it's the best updated www.fotolog.com/raykin. Keep in touch, I love hearing how old friends' lives are turning out, even if we're far apart!

What a beautiful baby! It is so nice to check into your blog and see what's happening with your little family. I can't get over how Linnea looks older than six weeks! It sounds like Ben is really into the Daddy thing, and I'm sure Stephanie is a wonderful mother (just look at her example!) Thanks guys for a peek into your lives. Can't wait to see you all.
